Originally published as the Newsletter, the name was changed to Journal. A small newsletter began publication later. It is now known as the German-Texan Brief.

Four issues were published in 2004 & 2006 comprising vol. 26 & 28, no. 1-4.

The German-Texan Heritage Society is a group of individuals with the common goal of furthering German-Texan culture through many activities. We work hard and have fun serving each other, interested people, and the community. Promoting awareness and preservation of the German cultural heritage in Texas. Founded in 1978, the German-Texan Heritage Society is renowned for the books it publishes, its collection of immigrant and historical books, and the complete collection on microfiche of the German newspaper, Texas Vorwärts. The GTHS is a non-profit organization dependant on the generosity of friends and members who support its mission.
