Some focus is on (but not limited to) the descendants of Daniel Hoopes, who came to America with his father, Joshua Hoopes. Early Hoopes ancestors settled in Pennsylvania and Virginia ca. 1683. During the 1800's, some moved to Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Utah. Some joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Later descendants also lived in the Bahamas, Guatemala, New Zeland, and in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Washington D.C., Wisconsin, and elsewhere.
