Description
Zachariah Ferris was an early settler of Charlestown, Massachusetts, where he was made a freeman in 1676. He married Sarah Blood at Charleston in 1673. They had six children, 1674-1682. He was killed in an expedition against Port Royal in 1711. Descendants of his sons, Zachariah Ferris (1674-ca. 1749) and Samuel Ferris (1682-1768), lived in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Delaware, and elsewhere. The surname is spelled Ferris and Ferriss.

Thomas Higgs was born 9 October 1809 in Spratton, Northampton, England. His parents were Josiah Higgs and Mary Bray. He immigrated to America in 1831. He married Eliza Caroline Doty 31 August 1834 in Plainfield, New Jersey. They had two sons, Joseph and Charles. His wife died in 1839. He married Harriet Richmond Holcomb (1816-1892) in 1842. John Akin was born about 1756, probably in South Carolina, and married Mary Watson (widow of Robert Howe). He fought in the Revolutionary war and moved to Maury Co., Tennessee where he was granted land in 1807. He died in 1821.

William Aiken and his family emigrated for County Antrim, Ireland, in 1775 and settled in Pennsylvania. He served for the Chester County Miltia during the Revolutionary War. He and his wife were the parents of at least four children. He died probably near Jackson's Creek, Fairfield District, South Carolina, in 1783. Descendants lived in South Carolina, Illinois, and elsewhere.

Heinrich Karl Töbener was born 9 February 1786 in Vorbrück, Germany. His parents were Johann Heinrich Tövener and Anna Magdalena Lühring. He married Cathrine Margrethe Sophie Söder 27 August 1819. They had nine children. They emigrated in 1848 and settled in St. Louis, Missouri. Heinrich died in 1849. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Missouri and California.
