Samuel Maxwell was born 25 July 1781. He married Martha A. Patton (1780-1848) in about 1802, in Montgomery County, Virginia. They had eleven children. Samuel died 22 May 1848 in Baxter, Tennessee. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Tennessee.

Description
William Ap Thomas immigrated (probably from Wales) to Elizabeth and Essex Counties, Virginia between 1637 and 1665. Ezekiel Thomas (1840-1917) and John Thomas (1846-1928) were direct descendants who moved from Georgia to Texas. Descendants of William Ap Thomas lived Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, California, Oregon, Washington and elsewhere.

Friedrich Seefeldt (b.ca.1830) married Johanna Schultz about 1850, and immigrated in 1859 from Germany to Watertown, Wisconsin, where he died after 1864. Descendants lived in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois,Washington, Georgia, Florida and elsewhere.

The Hayman name was found in Devonshire as early as 1312. Henry Hayman (ca, 1634-1685) immigrated to Virginia in 1650.
