Records of the marriages, births and deaths of the Connell family [ca. 1766-1938] of Ohio, Indiana, Kansas, Connecticut, Utah and Idaho. Silas Connell (1807-1879) was born in Adams County, Ohio. Elizabeth R. Hotchkiss was born at Hartford, Connecticut, in 1813. They were married at Cinncinnati, Ohio, in 1829. They had ten children, 1833- 1855, born in Adams County, Ohio, and Henry County, Indiana.

John Burner (1816-1875) was born in Rockingham County, Virginia. Susan Chapman (1825-1907) was born in Highland County, Ohio. They were married April 26, 1850. Their six children were all born in Middletown, Indiana from 1851-1862. Their daughter, Lucy, married S.T. Connell in Henry County, Indiana, August 15, 1872. Includes death dates of John and Susan's children.

The Connell family originated in Skibereen, County Cork, Ireland. The Connells were Protestants who may have descended from French Huguenots. They left Ireland between 1836-1846 and immigrated to Canada. From Canada they traveled to New York and eventually settled in Wisconsin. Descendants live in Wisconsin, Michigan and other parts of the United States.

Maurice Connell (1822-1872) was born in Lisgoold, County Cork, Ireland, son of Patrick Connell (1777-1827). He immigrated to the U.S. and settled in West Chester, Pennsylvania and married Margaret Donovan (1831-1884), daughter of Timothy Donovan and Margaret Roche Donovan. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Wisconsin, Montana, and elsewhere.
