William W. Creel, Jr. was born in 1814 or 1815 in Barnwell County, South Carolina and died after 1880 in Henry County, Alabama. His wife was Sarah Ann (b. 1816). They had ten children. Ancestors and descendants have lived mainly in South Carolina, Alabama and Florida. Many descendants settled in Slocomb, Geneva, Alabama.

Solomon Wright was probably born around 1757, place unknown, possibly Scotland. He moved from North Carolina to South Carolina in 1782 and served in the South Carolina militia. He was living in Darlington Co., South Carolina when he married Miss Reynolds. He died in 1838 in Henry County, Alabama. Descendants and relatives lived in Alabama, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and elsewhere.

It is in R27E, T9N, sections 30 and 19 (on the section line). Creel Church and cemetery are located on the east side of the road. The cemetery is still in use.
