Jeremiah Adams Sr. (1794-1883) moved from Connecticut to New York, and married Catherine Bowen in 1816. She died in 1836 in Erie County, Pennsylvania, leaving Jeremiah with 8 children. In 1837 he married widow Elizabeth (Willard) Shattuck, widow of Joseph Shattuck Jr., and later they moved to Vermilion, Erie County, Ohio. Matthew Blanchan (d.ca.1687/1688), a Huguenot, emigrated from France to Belgium, and married Magdelaine Joire. During or before 1647, the family immigrated to England; and in 1660 they immigrated to New Amsterdam, settling at New Paltz, New York. Descendants lived in the state of New York.

Nehemiah Ide (1746-1823) was born in Attleborough, Massachusetts. He served in the Revolutionary War military forces, and then married Mary Bennett. They settled in Pennsylvania. Ezra Ide (b. 1743) was Nehemiah's older brother, and he also settled in Pennsylvania.

Jan Eltinge was born 29 July 1632 in Zwiggelte, Drenthe, Netherlands. He married Jacomijntje Cornelisdr Slecht (1645-1702), daughter of Cornelis Slecht and Trijntje Bosch, 24 November 1672. They had five children. They emigrated and settled in New York. Jan died in about 1695 in Hurley, Ulster, New York. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Texas.
