William Herron was born ca. 1744 in Scotland. He immigrated to America in 1760 with his father and two brothers. William likely married in the state of New York but the name of his wife is unknown. William was the father of eleven known children and died 1810 in Whitehall, Washington Co., New York. Descendants lived primarily in New York and Michigan.

William Herron (1766-1854) was born in Donegal, Ireland. He married Elizabeth Ann Moore about 1787. They came to America in 1804 and settled in Rich Hill Township, Muskingum County, Ohio. Elizabeth died about 1813, and William married Elizabeth Crow in 1815. Descendants and relatives lived in Ohio, Wisconsin, North and South Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, Montana and elsewhere.

Richard Leedom (b.ca.1675), a Quaker, married Hannah Pease in 1701, and their two sons, John (b.1703), and William (b.1705), immigrated with their father from England to Southampton, Bucks County, Pennsylvania after their mother died in 1707. Richard Knowles (1787-1859) married Sarah Rostirn (Rostron?) in 1816, and the family became converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
