Descendants of Robert de Clayton (b. ca. 1030) in Normandy, France. He came to England with William the Conquerer in 1066. Descendants are listed connecting him with William Clayton (b.1625) of Chichester, who married Prudence Mickles and immigrated to America settling first in Burlington, New Jersey and later in Pennsylvania. His descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Indiana, California, and elsewhere.
