Family Bible records of George Washington Nix. He was born 16 Apr 1804 in Georgia to John Granger Nix and Sarah Speed. He married Telitha Garrett 7 Feb 1826 in Georgia. She was born 26 Oct 1810 to James Garrett and Tabitha Traver. They were the parents of twelve children. He died 20 Jun 1859 in Louisiana. She died 26 Oct 1896 in Louisiana.

John Nix (ca. 1760-1833?) and his wife, Sarah, moved from Union County South Carolina to Franklin County, Georgia between 1790 and 1800. They later moved to Monroe County, Mississippi. The descendants of their twelve children lived in Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Colorado and elsewhere.

John Cannifax (1711-1752) immigrated from Ireland to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania about 1730, married twice, and moved to Cumberland County, Virginia. Descendants (chiefly spelling the surname Cannefax with some spellings of Cansfix, Canifax, etc.) and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Texas and elsewhere.

Johannes Mark Steinseiffer (1692/1695-1754) was born in Eiserfeld, Westphalia, Germany and immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1749. He died in Culpepper County, Virginia. John Henry Stonecypher (b.1756/1757) a grandson, was born in Culpepper County, married in Wilkes County, North Carolina, and moved to Franklin County, Georgia in 1784. Descendants lived in Georgia, Tennessee, and elsewhere.

Thomas Largin (1803-1886) was born in North Carolina and married Rachael Martha Sansom (1811-1870). They migrated to Tennessee where thirteen children were born. They later migrated to Alabama where they spent the remainder of their lives. Descendants live in Texas and other parts of the United States.
