Description
William Scurlock migrated from Wales before the Revolution and settled in Spotsylvania county, Virginia. He was a Baptist preacher and accumulated considerable property which was left to his oldest son, William. Many of his descendants some of whom settled in Texas and the Southwest are included in this history.
Includes Scurlock, Wyatt, Tennison, Harris, and related families.

Description
Frederick Ray, Sr. (1759-1837) served in the Revolutionary War, and in 1787 married Nancy Harwell. About 1790 they moved from Virginia to North Carolina, moved later to Georgia, and by 1830 had settled in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. Descendants lived in Alabama, Mississippi, Texas and elsewhere.

The first Masons of Lambton County, Ontario originated in Lancashire, England. Two sons of William Mason (b. 1820), who were half brothers, immigrated to Canada. James Mason (1839-1919) immigrated in 1868. He married Percilla Tennison/Tennyson (1851-1903) in Whitby, Ontario. Joshua Tennis (Tennison) was born ca. 1735 to Absolom and Susanna (Bond) Tennison. He moved to Virginia from Maryland ca. 1770 with his second wife Sarah Holloway and family. He died in 1808. Allied families were Brittingham, Cary, Curtis, Burt, and Crockett. Descendants lived in Virginia.
