Jacob Goodpasture was living in Augusta County, Virginia, by 1753. He died there in 1766. His son, Abraham Goodpasture, married Martha Hamilton, daughter of Arthur and Barbara Hamilton, in 1776. They had eight children, 1777-1801. Most of the family migrated to Tennessee ca. 1800. He died in Overton County, Tennessee, ca. 1830. Samuel Tribble (1771-1814) was born in Albermarle County, Virginia, the son of Andrew and Sarah Ann Burris Tribble. He married Mary (Polly) Martin (1772-1851) ca. 1791 in Clark County, Kentucky. They had twelve children, 1792-1813, all born in Clark County. Their son, John H. Tribble (1803-1844), married Malinda Bragg in 1826 in Clark County. They had seven children, ca. 1827-1840. Jacob Goodpasture (d.1766) was born before 1723, and lived on land called Tunnis Creek near Brock's Gap, Augusta (later Rockingham) County, Virginia as early as 1753. James Goodpasture (b.ca.1780), a grandson of Jacob, moved from Virginia to Knox County, Tennessee with his parents and their family. He died after 1813 and before 1826. Descendants lived in Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri and elsewhere.
