Valentine Kirkpatrick, born ca. 1760, came into Mecklenburg County, North Carolina from Pennsylvania by April 22, 1779. He married Martha McMurray, daughter of Robert and Eleanor McMurray, ca. 1781 supposedly in Mecklenburg County. The couple had ten children. John Trayne, aged 22, immigrated to New England in 1635 with 18-year-old Margaret Dix, on the brig Susan and Ellen, sailing from the port of London. John wife Margaret died at 43 in 1660 and in 1675 he married Abigale Bent. John died in 1681.
