Description
John Amburgey, Jr. was born in 1758 on a farm once owned by his German immigrant grandfather Conrad Amberger. The latter died about 1742 when his son John Amburgey, Sr. was about twelve years old. On July 3, 1787, John Amburgey, Jr. married Elizabeth Hamons. They had twelve children. In 1814 most of the family moved to Russell County, Virginia and in 1826, some families crossed the mountains into what was Perry County, Kentucky (now Knott County).

Epaphrodidus Woodby was born in 1781 in Tennessee. He fought with the Tennessee Volunteers in the War of 1812. He married Mary Douglass in about 1814 in Carter County. They had fourteen children. George Honeycutt Sr. was likely born ca. 1796 in North Carolina. He was a descendant of Augustine Honeycutt (born in the early 1600s) of Surrey Co., Virginia. George married Jane Elizabeth Burris sometime prior to the year 1823. Jane was the daughter of Solomon Burris and Judith Taylor. George and Jane lived in Stanly Co., North Carolina and were the parents of eight known children. Descendants lived primarily in North Carolina.

Timothy Gray (1870-1937), direct descendant in the fifth generation, moved from Alabama to Tennessee, and married Ollie Edna Heagerty in 1899.
