George Belcher was born ca. 1760 in Amelia County, Virginia. He fought in the Revolutionary in the 15th Virginia Regiment. He married his first wife Sally Powell 14 August 1782 and they had one son. After the death of his first wife, He married Mary Fugate and they had six children. Descendants liver primarily Virginia and Arkansas.
